I haven't heard the word pen pal since grade school in the 70s. Is this the latest in a string of retro fashions held by urbane hipsters? Something like knitting, record collecting, swing dancing and the pioneer lifestyle. Fun to watch at a distance I guess. It's odd to see my grandmother's hobbies and activities become today's fashion trends. Guess we of Gen X have been more out with the old, in with the new. For better or worse. That term pen pals: still makes me think grade school requirement, from a time when a mudball fight looked more appealing.

* bragging? More practical observations, plus the entertainment I have gotten from young people embracing turn-of-the-20th-century hobbies while tweeting from their iPhone.
And for the record I see nothing wrong with it, it's just amusing.
And, what of techies who join groups like the SCA, where they hand-craft medievol and rennasence clothing, weapons and armour, while listening to electronica, in the old fashion? Yes, the juxtaposition of the retro and techno is amusing; I do my share. Hahha. Oh, and penpals? I think we Zonelanders are all bitpals? We converse, and will probably never meet in person.
Lol Dave. I spend as much of my off-work hours doing nontechnological things as well. it is amusing. And I wonder how history will look at us.

It is a free electronic magazine consisting of penpal ads of people who would like to find penfriends by email or other media. We got about 120 subscribers now from all over the world.
Teacher. This board already exists, so please stop trying to create duplicate boards in different categories. You're only allowed to have the one. Since the last 3 boards were the same, I've deleted them, and will continue to delete future duplicates. Thank you. Not trying to be an ass. It's just that the boards are already cluttered enough as it is. Making multiple boards advertizing the same thing only ends up making you look spammish and desperate, and I'm sure that's not how you'd want to come across. I do wish you luck with your magazine.
So sorry, but the message I posted today was about my second magazine for blind singles, it just started out after an idea that another member gave me and the only reason why I posted it was to help people out.
Okay, if it's a separate magazine, then I stand corrected and appologize. They were posted in separate categories, and I thought they had the same basic wording.
